Victory Belongs to the Lord

Proverbs 21:31 NKJV

[31] The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but deliverance is of the LORD.

As I sit here on a sofa upstairs looking at the grey clouds in the sky and hear children playing on the street, (one of my favorite sounds), I am full of hope. These words come to me at a time when I need to hear them … deliverance is of the Lord.

A lot of things have happened in the last few weeks, and many of us feel stripped of hope and courage. Maybe you, like me, have found it too easy to focus on the visible. Colossians 3:2 tells the believer to be intentional about where to set his mind … on things above. In Hebrews 11:27 it says Moses left Egypt unafraid of the king’s anger. Why? Because he kept His eyes on the One who is invisible.

Dear One, the spiritual realm is the far greater reality. It is the one which will last forever. What you see here will pass away, and you are urged to build heavenly treasure, keep your eyes on Jesus, and walk by faith and not by sight. You do this with your eyes firmly focused on Jesus, who goes before and has already won the victory. This is the way you find peace

Isaiah 26:3 NKJV

[3] You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.

All the plans you make will come to pass in God’s way and God’s time. It may look like you have lost, but if you keep close to God and trust Him, the victory will come. Too often it looks different than what you imagine, but God’s ways are always better.

I love these words from Pastor Craig Buroker:

Faith comes by hearing but leaves by looking.”

Focus on the unseen, the Invisible One. Find peace, do your part and trust Him and His timing. The enemy may have prepared his horses for battle but as you stay in your refuge, the Lord God Himself, you will be safe and watch Him be victorious.

In these days it is imperative for you to draw close to and seek God with great diligence. Surprise is half the battle. If you do not know who your God is and who you are in Him, you will be caught by surprise and you will falter and fail to be able to stand the attacks of the adversary.

In Christ you are righteous

and this only because you chose to believe Jesus is Lord and is the only way back to God and therefore you have made Him your Lord. The devil seeks to cause you to aim to make yourself acceptable to God. Dear One, Christ did that for you!

Once you are fully yielded to Him and find your identity fully in Him alone, you will be changed by the power of Holy Spirit and be all you are meant to be. You will also find yourself in a place of complete protection and provision – an absolutely marvellous place to be.

Daily dress in His identity, and armour as well as surrender every part of your life to Him. Trust Him fully and walk in the victory He has already won for you, on the cross 2000 years ago.

Blessings of courage to you

In love
